Tevin Wooten is an award-winning weather anchor.

 

He joined the KNWA (NBC) and FOX-24 news team in June 2014 as a reporter, but his roots with the Northwest Arkansas TV station started well before that.

 

Tevin was a news intern with the station in 2013, while also working with the station's NWA Weather Authority meteorologists.

 

He has reported on major stories such as the Arkansas-Missouri Railroad Train Collision and was live on the scene following devestating tornadoes in Vilonia and Central Arkansas.

 

After three quick years of college, Tevin earned his broadcast journalism degree from the University of Arkansas in December 2014. Before coming to KNWA/KFTA, he was the lead weather anchor for UATV News at the UofA. He says he enjoys weather! Growing up as a kid in lower Arkansas, Tevin's always wondered why the Northern portion of the state got snow and his south Arkansas town didn't see anything.

 

Tevin is originally from Camden, Ark. He was born and raised in the small town and credits the hometown feel for growing his leadership roles and broadcast journalism abilities.

 

In the past, he's spent time as a design intern with Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. You can see why he wants to be a meteorologist, because of a young love for science. He gained engineering experience that is second-to-none. Working with MSFC and NASA allowed him to work with an organized system of professional engineers and real-life rocket scientists!

 

With a large interest in meteorology and news, Tevin hopes to combine the best of both worlds and be a weather anchor.
